Overview

The HR Learning & Development Lead will lead, across the business units within Western Europe (France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Switzerland), the effective delivery of the overall L&D strategy. Working closely with Senior Managers, the role holder will identify development needs, design, create and deliver solutions at all levels thus enabling achievement of our strategic goals. You will address the development needs of employees at all levels, including apprentices and emerging leaders, while also supporting targeted leadership development initiatives. Will manage the Learning & Development Specialist role and agree the allocation of this resource where business needs require. 

Requirements

  • Completed university degree in Business Psychology, Business Education, HR Management, Business Administration with an HR focus, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in Learning & Development, with a strong emphasis on leadership development in international, mid-sized or large organizations
  • Hands-on experience as a trainer: you have designed and facilitated your own learning formats and may have coaching experience
  • Additional coaching, training or OD qualifications are an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of modern learning methodologies, didactics and digital learning tools, coupled with a pragmatic approach to implementation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both group and one-to-one settings
  • High emotional intelligence combined with professional presence and the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Experience in dynamic, growth-oriented and international environments
  • Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Cornerstone LMS (admin level) and LinkedIn Learning is a plus
  • Fluency in German, French and English Willingness to travel to other sites as required (approx. 30% of time)

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and continuously develop training and development programs for employees, apprentices and leaders
  • Support and enhance apprenticeship and early-career learning pathways
  • Collaborate in talent review processes and support succession planning activities to strengthen leadership pipelines together with the HR Business Partners across the region
  • Identify learning needs through feedback, performance development reviews and business requirements
  • Facilitate workshops, trainings and blended learning experiences including leadership development formats
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training and translate insights into ongoing improvements
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align L&D initiatives with business goals
  • Promote Quality and Health & Safety standards through learning interventions
  • Produce regular reports on learning metrics, progress and program effectiveness for the business and the Global Director of OD & Talent
  • Ensure compliance with relevant HSE, HR, Quality, Regulatory and Accreditation standards and internal ALS policies
  • Share knowledge and best practices with global L&D colleagues
  • Support and contribute to global L&D programs, including leadership development initiatives
  • Lead and develop the Learning & Development Specialist
  • Take responsibility for your own continuous professional development
  • Perform other duties as appropriate within the scope of the role
